In fairness to the people of the UK, it has to be acknowledged that our membership of the EU has been entirely driven by politicians and, with all three main parties wedded to the notion, there has been no opportunity for us to indicate dissent or for the questions in this poll to be asked. Politicians are adept at dodging specific questions, and refuse to answer except with generalities such as 'the EU is good for us' or 'there are huge benefits'. It is imperative that we know the limits of the voters' acceptance, and where each MP stands - just what he/she is prepared to tolerate without crying 'foul'.
